The NVQ Level 3 in Painting and Decorating course is aimed at candidates who are currently working as a painter and decorator and who want to achieve an advanced qualification. On successful completion of this NVQ course, students will be able to apply for their CSCS Gold Advanced Craft Card.

Students currently working as and advanced painter and decorator, and wish to gain a CSCS Gold Advanced Craft Card. The course is suitable for those who want to further their career prospects in the construction industry.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR COURSE

Topics covered by the course include working at height, prepping surfaces, wall coverings and stencils. Mandatory:

  • Surface preparation

  • Working at height and using platforms

  • Selecting types of paint

  • Selecting types of brushes

  • Health and safety

9 - 12 Weeks (Quicker completion is possible dependent on student commitment and experience).

PROGRESSION

At the end of the NVQ Level 3 in Painting and Decorating course, candidates will be able to demonstrate advanced skills in a number of areas including applying paint, installing coving and producing paint effects.
